One of our most frequently asked questions is how much a Home Comfort System will cost. The answer is not as straightforward as you may think. There are a number of details required to properly size a system for your home besides the tonnage. We want to ensure that if you are making an investment in a new Home Comfort System that it is the right system for your needs and that you are completely satisfied with it.

All homes & homeowners are different. Homes have the different square footage, different floor plans, different problems, & homeowners all have different needs. The role of the Comfort Advisor is to determine what is important to the homeowner and to design the best system to suit all of their needs. Home Comfort Systems come in different sizes and have different features that weren’t available 20 years ago.

In order to make sure that the equipment is correctly sized for your needs, we will

  • Evaluate the condition of the existing system’s “installation” (not the condition of the current system’s “operation”, many homeowners have the expectation that we do, however, this would require a visit from a service technician)
  • Discuss your satisfaction with your old, existing system
  • Look at the location of your old system and the accessibility
  • Take measurements of your home
  • Do a Heat Load Calculation to determine proper equipment sizing
  • Determine if the home has any hot or cold spots
  • Evaluate the condition of the ductwork
  • Evaluate where your windows are located and what direction the sun comes into your home
  • Evaluate your landscaping and its proximity to windows, equipment, etc.
  • Evaluate the size and placement of your windows and if they are double or single-pane windows
  • Evaluate the existing electrical and electrical breakers

To design the best system to address all of the clients’ needs, our Comfort Advisors discuss

  • Budget
  • Allergies or respiratory issues
  • High power bills
  • Noise issues

After taking all of this into account, our Comfort Advisors will provide you with options for your new system. You are welcome to ask any questions about each of the systems and why one option may suit you better than another. Once you choose a system that will work the best for you and your family, our Comfort Advisors will go over all of the paperwork, any available rebates, warranties, maintenance, filters, and any questions you may have. And we do offer financing options if you qualify. Our Comfort Advisors will also go over the installation process (and what we do differently from other companies) and what to expect next including an inspection with the city/county and our QA technician.
